Top Loire Valley attraction

Escape to the Chateau

A truly magical one

In the Loire Valley, you will be spoilt for choice, with so many impressive Chateaux in the UNESCO world heritage site, 42 to be exact. Amongst these, are some remarkable buildings with stunning formal gardens, unique architecture, full of incredible, mind-blowing history and sumptuous interiors. However, there are some unsung heroes. One of our favourites is a small Chateau around the corner from Chateau La Perriere, known as Chateau Rivau.

A Place of dreams, Chateau Rivau

Your children will be........

Dreaming of becoming a night or a princess

Entranced in a world of fairy tales, myths, and legends.

The grounds of Chateau du Rivau is a must visit, even you won't get bored. It has a different slant to other Chateaux in the Loire Valley, playing to children's imaginations, or adults who are still holding onto the idea of the Tooth Fairy, Santa Claus, and the Easter Bunny.

Oops, that's me, my hand is firmly up!

Beware, the gardens are full of mystical creatures, long-legged giants in the enchanted forest, mushroom houses and look out for those fairies; they are there. Explore the maze, you may even find the famous white rabbit, but don't get in his way, he is probably late. There is no doubt you will have to work hard to keep up with your children.

Who will complete the most number of steps, adults or children?

While other Chateaux are focused mainly on the history and beautiful formal gardens, Chateau du Rivau, think about how to captivate children's imagination, which in turn, allows the adults to soak up the beauty and history around them. Children won't get bored.

CHildren's medieval costumes for hire

They've thought of every detail! There are medieval costumes for the children to rent, for a small fee, allowing children to embark on a journey of history and imagination.

Top Chateau to visit with children

Is it all about the Children?

Not at all!

The gardens are beautiful, labeled "remarkable gardens," by the Ministry of Culture of France. "Conservation of fragrant roses" by the CCVS and the "conservations of old regional vegetables. Stunning natural gardens which evolve with the seasons.

We absolutely love this place.
