Great Vintage - 2014 & 2015 Loire Valley

Exciting news for our Loire Valley rental, 2015 is set to be a great Vintage with 2014 and 2015 making it a perfect match for our fabulous Chateau. The only shame is the yields are low, which is of course disappointing!

The reds and the Chenin's are reputed to be better than that of the 2014's. The anticipation is exciting, it is going to be a great place to be sampling some of the Loire's best vintages. The region received 10 awards this year at the Decanter Awards ceremony, which is a record - I wonder what will be in store for the 2016 vintages next year!

How do they know.....

If you didn't already know, it is all down to the colour of the red stems, the softness of the skins and the ripeness of the grape pips. Which is all dictated by the weather and selecting the right time to pick the crop. Of course you will always hear a lot of moaning, the conditions are never perfect.........
